"Leadership is not a burden, it is an opportunity, an experience, and a good time. Leadership is necessary to succeed. So why not get the practice now?" -Ian M., Lodge Chief 2008-2009

Updates/Lodge News
· The OA General meeting planned at the May Fellowship has been moved to May 18. There will no longer be an LEC meeting that night. All members are expected to attend (7:00 at the Scout office).
· The LEC approved a notion to pay for hamburgers and hotdogs at the Spring Camporee.
· A YMCA Lockin might not be possible. Awaiting an update from Matt Lees.
· Awaiting info for the bowling trip from Ian Molloy
· Awaiting response from Cayuga County for Community service projects

Conclave 2009 (Aug 14-16) will be at Camp Woodland outside of Syracuse; our CVC assignment this year is Friday-Night Special Events. This Year's theme is "Survivor; A New Beginning".

· The Lodge with the Highest contingent at conclave will receive:
o Priority Seating at shows and meals
o Special border conclave patch
-The Section is asking each of you for Patch Donations for the Conclave Patch Auction. Our goal is to have at least 10 cool patches from each lodge so that we can guarantee an amazing patch auction. The money made from the auction will go towards our section and help train our section staff and make for better conclaves in the future.
-There will be no camp tents at this year’s conclave, so you will have to provide your own. But there will be an open water-front and a ceremonies team competition, so bring your swim-trunks and practice your lines (if your on the team).

NLS
National Leadership Seminar
This is probably the best training you can ever get in the OA, and this year we have the rare opportunity of having one here in New York. This one is in Freedom, NY (near Buffalo) and our lodge will pay the full $65 cost for its five attendees. It will take place May 1-3 (same weekend as the May Fellowship), from 6:30 pm Friday night to 2:00 pm Sunday afternoon. You will also need to download a medical form from [http://tahgajutearchives.blogspot.com/] (will not be available until this weekend). If You are interested in going, contact mdamazyn@aol.com A.S.A.P. –Don’t miss this opportunity!

LLD The LLD (Lodge Leadership Development) course is essential for all arrowmen. It is here that you will be trained by experienced Lodge members in pre-selected training sessions (see below) so that we can become a better lodge. Participation is also of vital importance because we need to have at least 75% of our lodge attend the LLD each year to attain “Quality Lodge” recognition. If you want to be a better leader, become a more informed arrowman, and get quality Lodge, then show up at the May fellowship (if you can’t go to NLS).
Offered Courses:
· OA History
· Communication
· Leadership
· Motivation
· Membership Retention
· OA and Cubscouts

Attention All NOAC Attendees!
$100.00 deposits are due to the Hiawatha Seaway council office by the end of the month to help finalize hotel and transportation plans. Additionally, $400.00 must reach the office by May 15. –If you still have not ordered you Tahgajute NOAC patch, download the form from http://tahgajutearchives.blogspot.com/ or email a form request from Anacondon50@aol.com.

Conclave CVC Assignment – Friday Special Events:
As you should already know, Tahgajute Lodge is in charge of Special Events for the first day of Conclave. This will consist of “SURVIVOR” related competitions such as eating disgusting food, catching “fish” in a “bucket”, ice-water endurance, balancing, arm-hanging, bird shooting (with a “rock”), trivia, mind-teaser puzzles, and other such things. The people who win the most events (accumulate the most tickets) will compete for one, very special prize. The entire competition will be displayed LIVE on the projector screen in the dining-hall for spectators. In addition to this spectacle, we will also hide an idol in camp to be hidden throughout the week. The person to return this idol at the end of conclave will get a very cool prize. Thanks to our COC presentation, our budget has been raised to $125. If you have any suggestions or questions, contact the CVC chairman, Dan Lees at Voodoothursday@gmail.com.

-There will be a meeting for all CVC members to attend on April 13, at the Masonic Lodge in Cato. (contact the address above for details)To make this all happen, there is a number of things we need to obtain. If you happen to have access to anything on the list below, let us know at the email address above.

WEB FEATURE! Lodge Archives for this year (newsletters, documents, notes, ect.) http://tahgajutearchives.blogspot.com/

Email Your Lodge Secretary
Please send your updated contact info. for the Lodge Records. I know that cell-phone numbers can change very frequently, and we have less than 6 cell phones in our contact list. Please also provide your name, Troop-number, membership status (ordeal, brotherhood, vigil) and any other changes that may have occurred. If our records fall behind, so will our ability to keep you informed.
Please send Your opinions and Ideas. Earlier I had asked if anyone thought a YMCA lockin or bowling trip would be a good idea, I only got 2 serious responses. If you think bowling would be fun, let me know. We are currently planning on going from 10-12 at night, but have been unable to book a day. We can’t do this if we have no idea if anyone will come.
If you have a new idea for something fun, or have an idea for community service, or even have suggestions for the newsletter, let me know.
